Facebook Product Design Intern
Project overview
Project background
Facebook planned to build a new connection between Facebook users and 3rd party applications, called Account Linking. My project was to design the user settings for Account Linking.
My team, the Consumer Integration Platform team, creates valuable connections between Facebook users and businesses. As an identity platform, we gatekeep access to Facebook user accounts from businesses.
Why user settings are important?
Users have a high awareness of data privacy.
Facebook wants to build trust through better privacy.
Trust is the fundamental of valuable connections.
Our approach
Transparency
Control
Problem statement
How might we allow users to control 3rd party integration settings within Facebook in a meaningful way in order to give users better transparency and control over their Account Linking privacy settings? 🤔
